Provincial and territorial tax rates
Updated November 4, 2026
Each province and territory sets its own brackets and credits, and your provincial tax is added to your federal tax. The table shows only the top rate for each. Most people pay less than this.
| Province or territory | Top 2026 rate |
|---|---|
| Alberta | 15% |
| British Columbia | 20.5% |
| Manitoba | 17.4% |
| New Brunswick | 19.5% |
| Newfoundland and Labrador | 21.8% |
| Northwest Territories | 14.05% |
| Nova Scotia | 21% |
| Nunavut | 11.5% |
| Ontario | 13.16%, plus surtaxes |
| Prince Edward Island | 20% |
| Saskatchewan | 14.5% |
| Yukon | 15% |
| Quebec | Set by Revenu Québec |
Provincial credits also differ. Do not assume a federal amount is the same in your province.
