Union and professional dues

Annual union dues and dues required to keep a professional status recognized by law are deductible on line 21200.

Union dues usually appear in box 44 of your T4. Fees you paid yourself will not be on a slip, so keep the receipt.

If your employer paid your dues and did not include them in your income, you cannot claim them.
